Okay, let's get honest about the situation. trump loyalists currently control every branch of our government. We are learning the hard way that destruction happens so much more quickly than growth, and trump is trashing things fast. He has the people of the world in a frantic state. He is betraying our allies and aligning us with our enemies. Many of his acts are illegal, but it will take time for the courts to catch up to the hundreds of things he has done.
We need to slow him down, and we need to do it legally and with respect for the rule of law. We need to do it through a free and fair election process. Most people will say 2026 is our first chance if we flip The House. We say that's too late.
An opportunity exists NOW and you can help. Currently there are TWO Congressional seats up for election in Florida. This is a special election to fill seats so it won't be getting much media attention. The campaigns are not well funded and they need help. Election day is April 1st, so we don't have much time. The plan is to send a postcard (11" x 6") to as many households as possible in District 1 in support of Gay Valimont. This is a traditionally red districts, but that's because a lot of people don't vote. Voters there have so much power right now. Never has there been a time when the term "every vote counts" been more true. If we can just get MORE people in these districts to vote, we can win these two seats, and we can slow trump down.
At this point, party affiliation, or what these candidates will fight for, doesn't matter. We need to unite against the destruction of our country. With the election of Valimont and Weil we can close the gap on Republican control of The House. We can count on Dems to vote to slow down the carnage. If just two of the 218 Republican Congresspeople honor their oath to the Constitution and join them, we can exhale.
We will still have a long and torturous fight ahead of us, but this would be a great victory and a good start to saving our Republic.
